After our 7 weeks of deployment following Hurricane Sandy in southern New Jersey CIA began working with a local coalition of churches, Southern Ocean County Community Resource Center (SOCCRC), to set up a plan for rebuilding along the coastline. Most of the homes there have been gutted (many of them by teams from CIA), but the foundation and framework is still good. Some need new wiring or plumbing, most need new flooring and they all need new drywall hung. Some materials have been donated, some have been purchased by the homeowners, and the rest is provided by churches and individuals committed to restoring hope in Ocean County, NJ.
